Portal

Portal
Overview
Today for Throwback Thursday I'm going to review Portal one and two. Portal one came out October 9th, 2007. It was well received by critics and gamers because of its gameplay style and dark humor. The game is short but the story keeps the players intrigued.
Game Play
The game play is rather simple, you walk through the game solving puzzles that increase in difficulty as you progress on. After a few puzzles you pick up the portal gun that is used to solve the remaining puzzles in the game. The gun allows you create two portals that are connected and you can pass through. You can also pas objects through the portals in order to move them to where they're needed in the puzzle. While you're going through the puzzles you're being followed by an AI with a sarcastic dark attitude......which is my favorite part of the game to be honest.
Misc.
There's another "character" in Portal, although its not really a character per say. As you progress through the game you find a cube dubbed "companion cube". This cube is used to solve puzzles and is used in many jokes by the AI. A lot of players have fallen in love with companion cube. Upon the end of the Companion cube's usefulness the player has to incinerate the cube and its some what saddening to do.
All in all i give this game a 4 out of 5
Portal 2
Overview
Portal 2 came out April 19th 2011. It was also well accepted by audiences thanks to its dark humor and unique gameplay. You're once again solving puzzles and trying to escape the AI, but this time the AI isn't in control.
Gameplay
The gameplay in Portal two is not much different then the first one. There's a few new added features such as laser beams, tractor beams, and several other unique things to add difficulty to the puzzles.  After a while you meet up with another AI that wants to defeat the previous AI.  Lastly there is also a co-op mode in Portal two featuring two robots with half a portal gun each. The two players have to work together in order to beat puzzles levels.

I absolutely loved portal two's story and give the game a 5/5
